The Papa Steve Football Camp

In February and March of 2024, we proudly supported the Papa Steve Football Camp, honoring the legacy of Coach Steve "Papa Steve" Edwards, who dedicated nearly 30 years to coaching youth football and mentoring athletes. In addition to our donation to the camp, we also contributed jackets to ensure the young athletes have the proper gear as they develop their skills and learn Papa Steve's values of hard work and teamwork.

Pikes Peak International Hill Climb

2024

In June 2024, we donated $8,200 to support Dominick Tapia in his rookie run at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb (PPHC). Dom, one of our dedicated technicians, worked tirelessly to prepare for this challenging race. This donation helped fuel his efforts to compete in one of the most iconic motorsports events, and we're excited to see his continued success.

United Way Earth Day Clean Up

2024

In celebration of Earth Day 2024, 11 Bob Penkhus employees volunteered 2-3 hours to clean up the Family Success Center and surrounding neighborhoods as part of a United Way initiative. Their efforts contributed to improving the local environment, showcasing our team's commitment to giving back to the community and supporting sustainable practices for a cleaner, healthier area.

Colorado College Hockey Team

2023

In 2023, we were proud to sponsor the Colorado College Hockey team, contributing over $30,000 to help fund the team's efforts and fostering a positive impact within our local sports community. By supporting these athletes, we're not just backing a team-we're investing in the future of Colorado College hockey, helping them succeed both on and off the ice.

Hispanic Chamber's La Vida

Since 2023, we've been honored to donate $1,500 annually to sponsor ¡La Vida! This event holds a special place in our hearts because it celebrates Latin culture, community, and connection in a truly unique way. It's a vibrant occasion that highlights the importance of diversity and unity within our community, and we're proud to be a part of it.

Senior Veterans Inc - ColoradoHonor Wreaths

2023

We continuously look for ways to honor the lives of those who have protected the country we all love. This is why Bob Penkhus Motor Company annually donates to Senior Veterans, Inc.-an organization that places remembrance wreaths on gravestones at Fort Logan, Fort Lyons, and Pikes Peak National Cemeteries. Every year since 2012, we have donated $1,500 for 150 wreaths for the graves of our local fallen soldiers.

Tee'd Off Classic Charity Golf Tournament

2022

Since July of 2022, we have sponsored the Tee'd Off Classic Charity Golf Tournament at Cheyenne Shadows Golf Club in Fort Carson, donating $2,500 to the event every year. Second Annual Back to School Drive

Family Car Donation

2022

In February of 2022, we learned of a family that truly needed our help. This family lost their home to Hurricane Harvey and ultimately sought a new life in Colorado. After living in their car and then in a shelter, these parents continued to do everything in their power to support their children ages 1, 2, and 3. However, the couple became victims of a hit and run, and on Feb. 2, their car was impounded with extensive damage. We knew we needed to take action, which is why Bob Penkhus donated a safe and reliable vehicle to this deserving family in hopes of giving them a hand-up on their new life.

Pikes Peak Soap Box Derby

2022

In June 2022, Bob Penkhus proudly sponsored and participated in the Pikes Peak Soap Box Derby, an event organized by the international nonprofit dedicated to fostering knowledge, character, and meaningful experiences through collaboration and fair competition. Most recently, in 2024, we renewed our sponsorship for the 2025 running of the Derby, continuing our commitment to supporting this inspiring event. In previous years, our racer, Aria Immormino, achieved an impressive 2nd place in the Superstock Race, while our team earned Best Car in Show and Fastest Race in Division Heat honors. We're thrilled to remain part of such a rewarding community tradition!

Harrison District 2

2022

Since 2022, Penkhus Motor Company has helped the Harrison D2 Foundation Golf Tournament raise over $12,000 to support college courses for District 2 students. This initiative provides valuable educational opportunities, helping students further their academic goals and build a strong foundation for their future. Through this ongoing commitment, we are proud to invest in the next generation and make a meaningful impact in our community.

Marshall Fire Efforts

2022

Our hearts were broken after hearing of the tragedy that struck the community of Marshall and the amount of loss the victims had endured from the devastating fire. We knew we had to help, so we offered the victims a 20% discount for repair on a vehicle damaged in the fire and/or $500 towards replacing a vehicle. For those who claimed this offer to purchase a new vehicle, we also delayed their car payments for up to 6 months, giving them more time to focus on what really matters-their family's well-being and their own.

Sarah Calhoun House Fire Donation Drive

2022

In February of 2022, news struck of an unexpected house fire affecting District 11 5th grade teacher and single parent, Sara Calhoun. After losing her home and all of her belongings, we wanted to help bring some relief to her current situation in any way possible. Our Bob Penkhus team reached out to the community, asking for donations, and we matched all donations dollar for dollar.

Coats for Colorado

2021

In the fall of 2021, we knew we could make a difference in many lives by partnering with the non-profit Coats for Colorado to prepare Colorodans for the winter season. We reached out to the community for help, and from October 1st to October 30th, we accepted donations of warm coats. Anyone who donated two coats received a $10 discount for an oil change at Bob Penkhus. With help, we were able to provide hundreds of Coloradans with warm coats.

Adopt A Family Christmas Drive

2021

Since 2021, Bob Penkhus Motor Company has partnered with Pikes Peak United Way for the Adopt A Family Christmas Drive, helping 40 families from Harrison School District 2 over the years. Each year, we collect financial donations from the community to provide these families with gifts and essentials, ensuring they have a special Christmas. With the continued support of our generous community, we're proud to make the holidays brighter for so many families in need.

Back to School Drive

2021

Our annual Back to School Drive partners with Harrison School District 2 to help get students prepared for the year ahead with necessary school supplies. The drive has been a huge success, raising $2,000 and collecting an array of school supplies-all donated to the District 2 Special Needs Program. We're especially proud of this initiative as our GM Sevan, who serves on the District 2 board, helps ensure these efforts directly support local students.

Honoring the Brave

2021

In July of 2021, we sponsored Parsons "Honoring the Brave" with Homefront Military Network Charity Golf Scramble, donating $500 to the event. The event took place at Cheyenne Shadows Golf Club in Fort Carson, and the proceeds went to assisting service members, veterans, and their families.

Free Vehicle Sanitizing

2020

At the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, we offered Free Vehicle Sanitizing for first responders including all law enforcement, fire rescue, emergency medical technician/service, and healthcare providers. They were fighting day and night for us, so we wanted to give back to them any way we could.
