Summer is officially here, and that means July 4th is right around the corner. It's also time for backyard BBQs, at-home firework shows, and ice cream with family and friends as we celebrate our nation's freedom and independence. And, with all the wonderful things happening over the 4th of July in Colorado Springs, there isn't a better place to spend the holiday. Whether you want to surround yourself with people and parties or socially distance yourself from the safety of your porch, there is plenty to do for everyone in Colorado Springs for the 4th of July!

 

1. Summer Symphony and Fireworks from Your Porch

Enjoy watching the infamous Pikes Peak fireworks display on July 4th from the comfort of your own home as you listen to the beautiful sounds of Colorado Springs' Philharmonic annual patriotic concert. Just flip on your favorite local radio station at 9pm, pull up a lawn chair, and enjoy the show! (Show will be broadcasted on 96.9, 88.7, 106.3, 92.9, and 740AM.)

 

2. 4th of July at Royal Gorge Bridge and Park

If you enjoy good music with a great view, plan to be at Royal Gorge Bridge and Park over the July 4th weekend! Bring a picnic to snack on, a cooler for drinks, and a few blankets and chairs for you and your friends. Then sit back and enjoy the sounds of Deja Bluz and the incredible scenery of Royal Gorge! (Playing at 12:30pm on July 3rd-5th, 2021.)

 

3. Dinosaur Resource Center

If you are retired or active military, you can enjoy the Dinosaur Resource Center and their exciting prehistoric exhibits on July 4th at half off regular admission between 10am-5pm. Bring your family or friends to explore rare dinosaur fossils and hands-on experiences or to shop the Prehistoric Paradise Store!

 

4. Cripple Creek Fireworks Display

Closer to Cripple Creek? Enjoy the Cripple Creek annual fireworks display across Pikes Peak on July 4th at 9:30pm (or 20 minutes after dusk). Face your lawn chairs toward the south side of town for the best view of the show!

 

5. Fun Run at Palmer Lake

Join other runners virtually for a "Fun Run" on Saturday, July 3, 2021! Normally at Palmer Lake, this event is now open to wherever you enjoy running (with limited in-person availability, so sign-up soon!). This event costs between $20-$35 for children, youth, and adults. Grab your family and friends, sign up, and run for fun for Palmer Lake Elementary School!

 

6. 4th of July Celebration at Tri-Lakes

Spend the day celebrating at Tri-Lakes with a pancake breakfast, fun run, and parade! There will be something to enjoy for everyone all day at the street fair with food trucks, arts and crafts vendors, and musical concerts. Mark your calendars, and we'll see you there!

 

7. Live Music at ViewHouse

Come listen to live bands and eat delicious food on July 4th from 6pm-9pm at ViewHouse. Locally owned in Ballpark, Centennial, Littleton, and Colorado Springs, ViewHouse is an award-winning eatery, bar, and rooftop with the best views in Colorado. Join us for the 4th of July or get your order to go!
